Casa Cielo main house is a2 bedroom/2 bathroom spacious home on theCaribbean Ocean, with a security gate at street level to ensure privacy and safety. There are also2 attached studio apartments, which can increase the rental capacity to a 4 bedroom/ 4 bath home.House can optimally accommodate 4 - 6, and additional 1-2 in each studio, for a total of 6-10people (4BR + futon) but will depend on the ratio of adults to children and sleeping arrangements (ie how many people would be comfortable sleeping in each bed). Both bedrooms in the house and the living area have ocean views. Rooftop Swing Bar boasts 360-degree views!

It is truly a very special place with both abundant beauty, and a friendly fun atmosphere! The biggest advantage of the house is the location. Located just outside of downtown gives you tranquility and privacy, yet being within walking distance to numerous restaurants, shops and bars, as well as the beautiful North Beach. It sits on the end of the sea wall walkway, which runs into the town square.

Casa Cielo has an open concept living area, kitchen, breakfast bar, and dining area that opens up to a spacious terrace that overlooks the ocean with chaises, outdoor shower and hammocks. The beach is steps away from the terrace and is great for quiet walks, or looking for shells and sea glass, and snorkeling (but you will need water shoes). You may even see dolphins swimming just off shore, or a sea turtle laying eggs in the wee hours of the night. The living room has a balcony that has amazing views of Cancun Bay. Watch the sailboats with breathtaking sunsets while enjoying a margarita. Both the master bedroom with en suite bathroom and guest bedroom sleeps six adults comfortability and have sliders that lead out to the terrace. The roof has arguably the best view on the island! It has 360-degree panoramic views of the island, ocean on one side, and bay on the other. It boasts a beautifully tiled sunbed and pergola bar with swing seats. It's a great place to relax and watch the sunset. Visit Playa Norte with gorgeous white sand and calm clear turquoise water after a short walk through town.

Our property managers are wonderful, as well, offering a personal concierge service, answering any questions, arranging anything you would like to do, etc. Sue and Miguel work as a team to make sure your stay at Casa Cielo will be a great experience. They will leave you a cell phone with which you can contact them at any time with any issues that may arise.

Casa Cielo is located just south of the downtown, just past the Navy Base, within easy walking distance to downtown and beaches. Its front faces the bay, on the North end of the old Navy airstrip, and its back sits directly on the Caribbean. From the front patios, you can see the beautiful bay and watch people exercising or playing soccer on the airstrip, and from the back patios, you see and hear only the beautiful crashing waves of the ocean! It's in a perfect location, where you'll feel you have privacy, but proximity to the downtown action as well.

Av Juárez 36, Isla Mujeres, Mexico

From the ferry terminal on Isla Mujeres, it is an easy walk... take a right and walk about 2 blocks past the Navy base. Turn Left when the road splits to take the Caribbean side. From this point, you will see Casa Cielo, a big blue house, on the Caribbean side. It currently had a large fish Mural painted on the front wall. The house is almost directly across from the car ferry. If you would rather take a taxi, there is a taxi stand to the left as you are exiting the ferry.

Once you reach the unit, you will enter through the security gate (code will be provided) and go up one flight of stairs. The door is in front of you at the top of these stairs. The lock box is to the right of the door (code will be provided)

For info on getting from the airport and other helpful tips, see below....

Whether this is your first time on Isla Mujeres, or you’ve been before, this guide might provide you with a few tips or just suggestions to help you get settled on to the island.

Tips for the trip:

  1. Immigration at the airport is pretty easy! Just take the form the airline gave you on board and follow the crowd to the immigration line. Be sure to keep the tourist visa part with your passport during your trip and be ready to provide it when you leave. If you lose it, it just creates extra steps to leave the country and usually extra money.

  2. Once through immigration, if you have checked luggage you will go to pick that up, and then you will pass through Customs, where you will have to show the second form you filled out while on the plane. Here they will have you press a button that will hopefully turn green to go straight through. Randomly, it does turn red, and you must have your luggage searched.

  3. After you exit this area you will walk through sliding glass doors, and almost immediately be approached by people offering you hotel stays or transfers. If you arrange one ahead of time (which is recommended) it will probably save you money and a hassle.

  4. There are many ways to arrange to get from the airport to the ferry (30 minutes). Basically, you can book a shared shuttle service, such as Best Day or Happy Shuttle, or book a private transfer. Our favorites are “CARM” (Trina is the owner and they provide free transfers for people who volunteer to transport rescue dogs from our local rescue, Isla Animals, to their furever home!) or “At Your Service Cancun” (Felipe is the owner) Both services are very professional and reliable.

  5. Once at the ferry you will need to buy tickets, or if you arranged transport with CARM or AYSC, they will provide these tickets as part of your transfer package. The Ferry generally leaves every 30 minutes.

  6. Once on the island is probably the best time to exchange money or withdraw from the ATM. There is a money exchange just as you exit the ferry terminal to your right. HSBC ATM is directly across the street from the ferry. ATMs do get hacked, so if you choose to use them, take precautions such as having only a small amount of money in that account, and changing your PIN code directly after withdrawing money. Exchanging USD is safest however you sacrifice some in the exchange rate.

  7. Now that you are on the island, Casa Cielo is easy to get to! Many taxi drivers will know it by name, but if not, you can tell them it’s at the airport, and then that it is big and blue and the first house on the Navy airstrip just outside of town on the Caribbean side (it also has its name written on the porch).
